Note which stores they say yes to, the simply add up the numbers for each store, the tag line gives you the number !

GREEN STORE (1) - TOY SHOP (2) - DISCOUNT STORE (4) - BIG STORE (8)

Then look at the shopping list and see what item is at that number and "read their mind" and tell them !

For example they think of a kite. It is available in the Green Store and Toy Shop so 2 + 1 = 3 which is the kite.

To make it even more impressive, learn what item each number is for so you can just do it without looking at it.
